New York Energy $mart Communities
Designed to provide residential energy efficiency incentives sponsored by the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority, New York Energy $mart Communities provides easy steps that homeowners or renters can take to reduce energy consumption, utility bills and personal impact on the environment. Specific steps for reducing waste, reusing materials and recycling commodities will be presented. Topics will also include the relationship between energy, environment and economics that presents major challenges for the future of communities, the nation and the world.
This program will be presented by Lee Loomis, coordinator of New York State Energy Research and Development
Authority's Energy $mart Communities program for the Finger Lakes Region through the Center for Environmental Information. Loomis manages a wide range of New York State Energy Research and Development
Authority's financial and technical assistance programs, involving energy efficiency and alternate energy technologies for residential and small commercial customers.
Save Energy, Save Dollars
Designed to help people reduce their energy bills through low-cost or no-cost energy conservation methods, Save Energy, Save Dollars provides hands-on, practical information that people can start using the same day. This workshop is a preview of the two hour program that is offered on a regular schedule by Cornell Cooperative Extension of Ontario County and sponsored by New York State Energy Research and Development Authority.
Patricia Pavelsky, executive director of Cornell Cooperative Extension of Ontario County will present this program. In her educator role with Cornell Cooperative Extension, she provides energy conservation, money management and consumer education through workshops and a weekly column in The Daily Messenger.
