Community awards dinner June 3

NEWARK - The annual Newark Chamber of Commerce Community Awards dinner is scheduled for Wednesday, June 3 at Burnham's Canalside Restaurant at the Quality Inn on Main Street. Social hour and hors d'oeuvres are planned for 6 p.m. with a buffet dinner served at 7 p.m.

The Ron Colacino Community Spirit Award will be given to the Newark Food Closet. Linda Werts will receive the Alex Eligh Service Award. The 2008 Greater Newark Chamber Business of the Year Award will go to Boyonton's Jewelers. 2009 Eagle Scouts, Joel DeVolder and William Guchone will receive the Outstanding Youth Award.

Tickets, available by calling the chamber office at 331-2705 are $30 and include dinner, wine and dessert. Limited tickets will be available at the door. The public is encouraged to attend.
