Lyons National Bank visits St. Michael School

NEWARK - Jared Crawford and Cathy Wind, of the Newark branch of Lyons National Bank, visited St. Michael School Wednesday, May 13. They brought with them a monetary unit, as it relates to credit and banking. Each student was given a prepared budget and was guided through the process of deposits and withdrawals. Students were then given a chance to make the decision to save or to spend and then to realize the results of their choices. Crawford led the fifth through eighth graders through the process of analyzing credit for items, such as a car. Wind discussed the importance and necessity of good credit and how to establish it.

Crawford and Wind held two sessions of active discussion and had the students asking and answering questions.
