Some like it hot, some like it hotter

NEWARK - March 7 marks the Chili Cook Off Contest and Beer Tasting at Newark Public library. For $10 pre-sale or $15 at the door you can sample some of the finest chili east of Texas and some unique custom craft beers. All monies benefit the library and its programs.

From 6:30 to 8 p.m. there will be the chili sampling and public vote. After that, a panel of chili experts ('The Owl', Kathy Wind, Dave Howard and Mayor Blandino) will taste and judge the chili. From 8 to 9 p.m. dessert will be served and prizes will be awarded.

Tickets are available at the library, Joey's Northside and any library trustee. Beer will be donated by Saranac Brewers, T.J. Sheehan Dist. and Custom Brew Crafters.
