Seminar planned NEWARK - A seminar for prospective Board of Education members' will be held from 8:30 a.m. to noon Saturday, March 28 at the Wayne-Finger Lakes Board of Cooperative Educational Services Regional Support Center in the Eisenhower Building at 131 Drumlin Court in Newark. All school board members will be elected May 19. Candidates for boards of education must file their nominating petitions at least 30 days prior to the election. This seminar will help potential school board candidates and the public-at-large understand the role and responsibilities of school board service. A school board candidate must be a United States citizen, at least 18 years old, able to read and write, a district resident for one year prior to election and not employed by the school district or related to a current member of the board of education. There is no charge for the seminar.
