Community connection topic: advances in cardiology

CLIFTON SPRINGS - Cardiology is a specialty of medicine which focuses on abnormalities and/or diseases of the heart. Continuually there are advances in diagnosis and treatment of cardiac conditions.

Joan Eckert, MS, FNP/C, will provide up-to-date information on these advances, as well as advances in the prevention of heart disease, at community connection at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 18 at Clifton Springs Hospital second floor dining rooms one and two at 2 Coulter Road in Clifton Springs.

Eckert is a nurse practitioner at Finger Lakes Cardiology Associates at the University of Rochester. She received a nursing degree from Nazareth College and a masters and nurse practitioner from St. John Fisher College. Eckert has been with Finger Lakes Cardiology, located on the campus of Clifton Springs Hospital, since 1999.

Program is free. Bring a friend. Refreshments will be served. Reservations are not necessary.
