Keep money local...
Apply for passport through county clerk

LYONS - Wayne County Clerk Michael Jankowski announced the 2009 schedule for Wayne County passport clinics. Clinics will be held throughout Wayne County, during evening hours.

Jankowski encouraged Wayne County residents to take advantage of these clinics to help keep their money in Wayne County. Whenever someone applies for a passport through a national agency, the entire $100 application fee is sent to Washington.

However, when a resident applies for a passport at the office of the county clerk, $25 of the $100 application fee stays in Wayne County as local revenue and is used to offset local property taxes.

Jankowski emphasized, 'Every dollar counts.'

The schedule is as follows:

  • Walworth Town Hall, Wednesday, March 25, 6 to 7:30 p.m.
  • Sodus Town Hall, Wednesday, March 22, 6 to 7:30 p.m.
  • North Rose-Wolcott Central School, Wednesday, May 27, 6 to 7:30 p.m.
  • Palmyra Town Hall, Wednesday, March 24, 6 to 7:30 p.m.
  • Wolcott Town Hall, Thursday, July 23, 6 to 7:30 p.m.
  • Williamson Town Hall, Wednesday, Aug. 26, 6 to 7:30 p.m.
  • Macedon Public Library, Wednesday, Sept. 23, 6 to 7:30 p.m.
  • Newark Municipal Building, Wednesday, Oct. 21, 6 to 7:30 p.m.
  • Wayne Central School, Thursday, Nov. 12, 6 to 7:30 p.m.

Processing agents with blank application and photos will be on hand. New applications may be obtained prior to the session at each town clerk's office.
