Early Head Start/Head Start recruiting for 2009-2010 school year LYONS - The Early Head Start/Head Start program is recruiting income eligible children. Head Start and Early Head Start are federally funded programs that provide comprehensive services to pregnant women, infants, toddlers and preschoolers and their families in the areas of early development, education, health, nutrition, family/community partnerships, mental health and special services. Children ages zero to five will be considered. A special effort is made to recruit children with disabilities. Eligibility is based on income, family size and family circumstances. Families must live in Wayne County. Early Head Start serves pregnant women, infants and toddlers. Early Head Start is available in the Newark Center, with wraparound daycare, if needed. In addition, Early Head Start offers home-based options throughout Wayne County. Head Start serves children ages three to five. Centers are located in Huron, Sodus, Clyde, Lyons, Ontario, Palmyra and Newark, where wraparound daycare is also available. Head Start also has the home-based option throughout Wayne County.
