SODUS - In the world of Girl Scouting and Girl Guiding, World Thinking Day is the day Girl Scouts and Girl Guides take time to remember they are part of an organization that includes 144 countries worldwide. The Sodus Girl Scouts celebrated Thinking Day March 7, by having an overnight lock-in at the Eastside YMCA. During the lock-in, girls played games to learn more about their sister Sodus Girl Scouts, as well as created posters to learn more about Girl Guides from Costa Rica, Fiji, Ireland, Jordan and Kenya, the 2009 featured Thinking Day countries.

The Sodus Girl Scouts also went green. Each Girl Scout bought her own water bottle to the event to cut down on the number of disposable cups needed in an attempt to reduce, reuse, recycle. In addition, the seventy-five girls plus adults also enjoyed the pool, jungle gym, computers and two Wii's at the YMCA.

Girls conducted an Easter egg hunt, learned to make Gak, tried Sharpie tie dying and participated in many more up-all-night activities, many girls earning the right to say, 'I stayed up all night.'
