Open house at
Stillwood Study Center

PALMYRA - An open house will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday May 9 at the Stillwood Study Center at 2191 Shilling Road in Palmyra. The event is free and open to the public.

The Stillwood Study Center is a not-for-profit educational organization that moved to Palmyra in the early 1990s. Its mission is to promote interest in and to study ideas relating to human development with the aim of enabling men and women to function more intelligently and actively within their community.

In addition to activities for members, Stillwood continues to offer a variety of outreach programs, developed with the intent to cover subjects not addressed by other area organizations. Past programs included such diverse activities as bread-making and watercolor workshops, harpsichord and piano concerts and children's story-telling programs. Its nearly 300 acres of wooded land has been used by area colleges for the study of unique plant growth and bird watching. When requested, outreach programs are sign- interpreted for the deaf.
