Planning ahead with long-term insurance

LYONS - Wayne County Department of Aging and Youth employees are available to provide up-to-date, accurate, and unbiased information - in both group and individual sessions - about the many types of long- term care insurance policies available in New York state.

The cost of staying in a nursing home in New York can be very expensive - often over $90,000 a year. Home care can be very expensive, too, and few people can afford these costs without using all their life savings. Long-term care insurance allows people to protect their assets in the event that they need long- term care in the future.

The next group sessions will be held 10 a.m. Thursday, May 14 and 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 9 at the Department of Aging and Youth in the Health Services Building at 1519 Nye Road in Lyons. Seating is limited, and registration is required. To register, call 946-5624.

To learn more about long-term care insurance options, call 946-5624 to sign up for an individual appointment or group informational session.
