Volunteers to be honored

LYONS - Home Meal Service will honor volunteers and elect new board members at the annual volunteer recognition dinner at 7 p.m. May 14, hosted by the Newark Elks Lodge No. 1249, at 223 S. Main St. Social hour begins at 6 p.m.

Program will include election of Home Meal Service board members.

Meals-on-Wheels and Sodus Nutrition Site volunteers will be recognized for their years of service. During the past year, 255 volunteers have delivered meals in Wayne County and served at the Sodus Nutrition Site. Thirty six volunteers will receive special recognition for five, 10, 15 and 20 years of service. Susan Gateley Peterson, local author and naturalist, will be the guest speaker.

For more information about volunteering with Meals-on-Wheels or at the Sodus Nutrition Site, call the Home Meal Service office Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at 946-5623.
