Relay for Life

PALMYRA - The American Cancer Society invites individuals to honor cancer survivors and caregivers and pay tribute to those who have lost their battle with cancer by joining Relay For Life in two Wayne County communities.

Relay For Life is and event where hundreds of volunteers, families, caregivers, cancer survivors and teams come together in an overnight community celebration of life and cancer survivorship. Teams of people from all walks of life will camp out, dance, barbecue and take turns walking around a track relay style to raise funds to fight cancer. Proceeds raised support cancer research, education, advocacy and patient services in the community.

All cancer survivors are invited to celebrate their triumph over cancer by participating in an inspirational survivors' lap to open the Relay For Life events. Relay For Life will take place in the following Wayne County communities:

  • Palmyra, June 5 through 6 at the Wayne County Fairgrounds. Survivor reception begins at 6 p.m.; opening ceremony at 7 p.m.
  • Clyde, July 17 through 18 at the Lauraville Landing Park. Survivor reception begins at 6:30 p.m.; opening ceremony at 7 p.m.
