Harry Potter fever at Newark Library

NEWARK - The Newark Public Library is celebrating the release of the film 'Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince' in theaters July 15 with a reading contest and movie marathon.

Beginning June 1, students in third grades and up are encouraged to sign up for the library's reading contest at it's Web site, http://newarklibrary.blogspot.com. The grand prize is two tickets to Showplace 6 movie theater in Newark to see the film. Additional prizes will be awarded. The more participants read, the more chances they have to win Winners will be notified the week of July 13.

The library will host a marathon of the first five Harry Potter movies on its projector. The movies will be shown in order during the first two weeks of July. One movie will be shown on each of the following days: Monday, June 29; Monday, July 6; Tuesday, July 7; Thursday, July 9; and Monday, July 13. All movies will start at 2 p.m.
