Jenks, Fred - Frederick Edwin Jenks, 83, of North Rose, died Dec. 7, 2007. Fred was born July 13, 1924. He was a master carpenter, worked at a wholesale lumberyard, and was certified to teach carpentry at BOCES Wayne County. Fred was a veteran of World War II, a member of Miner-Young Post and VFW, Lions Club, a Master Mason in Rose Lodge 590, and Consistory of the York Rite of Rochester. He served on the Board of Education, was a volunteer fireman for 58 years, and an active lay church member. He enjoyed music, singing, reading, model railroading, coin collecting, hunting, and playing cards. He is survived by his wife, Marilla; sister, Cynthia Woodard; brother, Richard (Eileen); three children, Edwin Seth (Bob), Eleanor Bloom (Edward) and Thomas (Jullianna); four grandchildren and one great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by brothers, Edwin, Jr. and William; and sister, Gwendolyn Griswold. A memorial service was held at St. George Community Church in Utah. Interment will be in the Rose Cemetery.

Leenhouts, Mildred - Mildred Elizabeth Leenhouts, 92, of Marion died December 25, 2007 in Tappan, in the care of her daughter. She was a lifelong resident of the Marion area. She was predeceased by her son, James and her husband, Vernard. Survivors include a daughter, Joan (Stuart) Bornstein; three grandchildren, Benjamin (Lesley), Liliana, Diana and one great-grandchild, Ellie; sister, Alberta (Gordon) DeRue. A memorial service is planned for January 12, at 11 a.m. at the United Church of Marion. The family request that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Marion Public Library, The United Church of Marion or The Marion Ambulance/Fire Department.

Legg, Beverly - Beverly E. (Burm) Legg, 77, a resident of Ohio, died December 29, 2007, while a patient in Aultman Hospital in Canton. She was born September 8, 1930, in Williamson, daughter of the late Angelus E. and Elizabeth (Delyser) Burm. She was a 1948 graduate of Newark High School, Newark. She was an Army veteran serving during the peace time era. She had owned and retired from her radiator distributing business in New York. She was a member of the Wickenburg, AZ American Legion and the Newark VFW. She was preceded in death by a son, Larry Legg, who died on May 3, 2006, and her longtime companion, Walt McKee. Surviving are four children in Ohio: Deb (Oly) Benally, Becky Bender, J.R. (Cheryl) Legg II and Sandy Kopp; six grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, her sister, Barbara Mayo of Newark, brother, Jackson (Eileen) Burm of Newark, nieces and nephews. Smith, Roger - Roger S. Smith, 81, of Miami Florida, died Dec. 25, 2007. He was born Feb. 17, 1926 in Newark, son of Carleton and Ethel Smith. He was a longtime employee of C. H. Stuart. He moved to Florida in 1969, to run the new Aquasport Boat Co. He is survived by his wife, Mavis; son Christopher, daughter Lesley, granddaughter Kyra, grandson Trey, brother, Garry Smith of Lyons; two nieces, Marilee and Kim, and a nephew, Roger.

Palone, Ethel - Ethel F. Palone, 88, of Lasher Road, Clyde died December 30, 2007. Friends called at Boeheim-Pusateri Funeral Home, 77 William St., Lyons, where services were officiated by the Rev. Arthur Sziemeister. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery, Lyons. Ethel was born December 9, 1919, in Lyons, daughter of Albert and Emma Eckert Feiock. She had worked at National Biscuit Co. and Bordens in Lyons and retired from Mobil Chemical Co. She was a member of the First Lutheran Church of Lyons. She is survived by her son, Carl (Bev), of Clyde; sister, Alice Palone, of Newark; two sisters-in-law, Blanche Feiock, of Rochester and Eloise Feiock, of Palmyra; nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Carl in 1992; and granddaughter, Lisa in 1985. Hayes, Herb - Herbert W. Hayes, 57, of North Rose, died December 27, 2007. Herb was born May 10, 1950, in the Town of Huron, a son to Barton P. and Erma A. Finch Hayes. He was a veteran of the Navy and was a lifelong area resident. He was an independent trucker and logger. He is survived by his two sons, Jesse and Alex; his mother, Erma Hayes; brothers and sisters, Bonnie (Bill) Lapp, Elizabeth 'Betsy' Meade, Barton (Linda) Hayes Jr., SueAnne (John) Buzzelli, JoAnne Pierce (David Becker), Bret (Penny) Hayes, Matthew Hayes (Corrine Fisher), and Shannon Hayes; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his father, Barton Paul Hayes Sr. in 1979. Arrangements entrusted to Farnsworth-Keysor Funeral Home in North Rose; burial will be in the Rose Cemetery. Hubright, Arlene - Arlene Hubright, 80, of Marion and Newark, died December 28, 2007 in Waterloo. Arlene was born February 23, 1927 in Newark, daughter of Raymond and Edith Design East. She was a long-time employee of Seneca Foods in Marion. Arlene is survived by a daughter Lynda D'Amico (and fiance Bob Baker) of Geneva; three sons Gary (Patti), Dean (Debbie) and Kevin (Jane), all of Newark, 14 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren; a sister Betty Murphy of Wappingers Falls, brothers Eugene East of Newark, and Gerald East of Marion, and nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a son Daryl in 1989, a grandson Colby in 1993 and a brother Donald East in 1984. Funeral was held at the Paul L. Murphy & Sons Funeral Home, 127 East Miller Street, Newark. Interment will be in Marion Cemetery.

Beck, Stanley - Stanley L. Beck 70, of Marion, died December 29, 2007. He is survived by his sons, Kirby (Julee) Beck of Williamson, Danny (Pat) Beck of Illinois, daughter Bambi Hackett of Nebraska, seven grandchildren and a great-grandson; his sister, Mary Lou (Ralph) Davis of Nebraska; brother, Dewey (Charlotte) Beck of Colorado, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased in 2002 by his wife, Jean Beck. Funeral service was held at Young Funeral Home in Williamson; interment will be in Lake View Cemetery, Pultneyville. MacCormick, Edith - Edith Lee MacCormick , 94, of Florida, died December 11, 2007. She was predeceased in 1996 by her husband, Robert W. MacCormick, and in 1984 by her sister, Marian F. Zornow. She is survived by her children, Janet (Richard) Seaver of Florida, William (Joyce) MacCormick of Texas, Susan MacCormick of Vermont, Robert (Renee) MacCormick of North Carolina; half brother, Robert Lee of Florida, niece Mary Lannon of Clifton Springs, nephews Frank Zornow of Rochester, and John Zornow of Newark. Edith was born in Rose Hill, New York in 1914, and graduated from the Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston with a Degree as a Registered Nurse. The family lived for many years in the East Braintree, Massachusetts area, moving in the 1960's to Vermont, where they established an advertising business. Later they retired to Orlando, Florida where Mr. MacCormick worked for Sea World as a commercial artist. In 1999 she moved to Westminster Towers in Orlando, where she was instrumental in establishing the Clown Ministry. She was part of a troupe of 12 clowns. A private memorial service will be held.

Johnstone, William "Rick" - William Johnstone, 64, of Sodus, passed away suddenly on December 26, 2007. Rick was a U.S. Army veteran, having served in Vietnam. Family and friends are invited to call on Sunday, from 12-3 p.m. at the Norton Funeral Home, 45 West Main St., Sodus. His funeral will be held at the conclusion of visitation. Spring interment with military honors will be held at the Sodus Rural Cemetery. Rick was predeceased by his parents Allen and Gertrude Johnstone, sister Mary Fitch (Hollis); brother-in-laws Donald Snyder and David Bennett; and his best friend Baby. He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Jeanne; siblings Donald (Joyce) Johnstone, Dorothy Snyder, Alan (Patti) Johnstone, Richard (Mary) Johnstone, Sharon Bennett; brothers and sisters-in-law; close friend John Steingraber; several nieces, nephews and many other friends.  Donations in memory of Rick may be directed to the Sodus Town Ambulance Corps, the Sodus Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary, or to a charity of one’s choice.

Santiago, Angel - Angel F. Santiago, 70, of Tellier Rd., Newark, died Dec. 26, 2007 at Newark Hospital. Angel was born Aug. 25, 1937 in Yauco, Puerto Rico, son of Juan De La Cruz Perez and Luisa Santiago. He worked at Jackson & Perkins, Seneca Foods, and he was a farm worker. He is survived by his children, Doris D. & Doris N. Perez; Angel, Marisell, Edison and Aracelis Perez; Maressa, Angelo Jr. and Jessica Santiago; sisters, Ana Maria Figueroa and Solinda Perez; brother, Israel Perez; several grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Sorensen, John - John G. Sorensen, 77, of Willard, died Dec. 25, 2007, as a result of injuries sustained in an auto accident in the Town of Covert. John was born June 2, 1930, in Penn Yan, a son of the late John and Astrid (Nielsen) Sorensen. He graduated from high school in Penn Yan and began a long career in the trucking industry. After many years as a local driver, he worked as a safety supervisor and terminal manager in Scranton, PA, for the former Penn Yan Express. He then drove for T&D Trucking for more than 10 years. John was an avid outdoorsman, member of the NRA, member of the South Seneca Sportsmen's Club, representing the club in numerous competitions. He was an active member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Geneva. John is survived by his wife of 57 years, MaryRuth (Weeks) Sorensen; his children, Constance (James) Fraboni, of Riverview, FL, John E. (Lorrie J.) Sorensen, of Newark, and Kristina (David) Wight, of Ithaca; eight grandchildren; and a brother, Peter (Betty) Sorensen, of Rochester. The family will receive friends from 11 to noon on Dec. 29 at Covert Funeral Home, 7199 Main St., Ovid, where a funeral service will be held at noon, officiated by the Rev. Nissa Deibler of the Zion Lutheran Church in Geneva. Spring interment will be in the Hillside Cemetery in Dundee. Verkey, John - John A. Verkey, 83, of Lyons and Newark died December 25, 2007 at the DeMay Living Center. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday (Dec. 29) at St. John's Lutheran Church, 50 Spencer Street, Lyons. Burial will be in East Newark Cemetery. He was born January 15, 1924 in Groedee, Holland, the son of John W. and Fanny Zonneville Verkey. He retired in 1979, from the Newark Development Center, where he worked in maintenance. He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Lyons. During World War II, he was awarded the Bronze Star and a Purple Heart with a Oakleaf Cluster while serving with the 36 Division of US Army in Italy and Southern France. He was a life member of the Newark Elks Lodge, Arcadia Memorial Post #2883 VFW and the Disabled American Veterans. He enjoyed bowling, golfing and fishing. He is survived by his wife, Rose; son Jon Charles (Christine) Verkey of Newark; stepson Ron (Debbie) Krueger of Newark; seven grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; a brother Abraham Verkey of Tyre, and sister Elizbeth Burcroff of Marion. He had four half brothers and two half sisters. John was predeceased by his first wife, Maybelle, in 1984. Memorials may be sent to St. John's Lutheran Church, 50 Spencer Street, Lyons 14489.

Brown, Tom - Thomas E. Brown, 58, of Sodus died December 23, 2007. Tom was a U.S. Army veteran and served in Viet Nam. He is survived by his daughter Paula (Robert) Gnau; his mother Marjorie Fagner; sister Nancy (Ralph) McCann; brother John (Carol Leach) Brown; granddaughters Kathleen and Patricia Palmer; nieces and nephews. Blankley, Shirley - Shirley A. Blankley, 68, of Sodus died unexpectedly on December 24, 2007, following a short illness. Shirley is survived by her daughter Charlene Blankley (Steven DeBolt) of Geneva; life long partner Gerald Johnson of Sodus; brother Richard (Glenda) Wheeler of Wolcott; nephews Richard (Melissa) Wheeler and Steven (Kathy) Wheeler. Shirley was predeceased by her parents Mabel and Clark Wheeler of Wolcott and maternal grandmother Carrie Sherman of Wolcott. Collins, Suze - Joan 'Suze' Bloomer Collins, 76, formerly of Newark, died October 18, 2007 in Bethesda, Maryland. She and her husband Jeremiah C. Collins had lived in Bethesda since 1957. She was the daughter of the late Harrison and Margery Bloomer of Newark. Survivors include her husband Jeremiah C. Collins of Bethesda; children Laurie Quirk of Rockville, Fred Collins of Annapolis, Jody Tennant of Chevy Chase, and Jeremiah Collins of Fort Worth, and 11 grandchildren. In Bethesda she was an active member of the Christ Child Society and participated in numerous volunteer projects with Catholic Charities. As a Dame of Malta, she traveled to Lourdes, France on several occasions assisting the sick. Her prized work, according to family was with the residents of Victory Housing's Malta House, an assisted living home for the elderly in Hyattsville.

Ludwig, George - George Henry Ludwig, 84, of Union Springs, a retired Newark school teacher, died Dec. 13, 2007, after a long illness. George was born November 20, 1923, in Cortland, a son of Henry Leon Ludwig and Minnie Louise (Vormwald). He graduated from St. Mary's Catholic School in 1941, where he was the president of his class. He served in World War II as a flight engineer on B-24 aircraft in the 742nd Bomb Squadron of the U.S. Army Air Force. He flew numerous missions into Austria from Cerignola, Italy in 1945, receiving many medals for his service to his country. Upon discharge from the military, he attended SUNY Oswego and graduated in 1950. He was married that summer to Barbara Ann Scott, also of Cortland. In later years, he continued his education at Syracuse University. Mr. Ludwig retired from teaching at Newark Central School in 1980. He taught a variety of subjects during his career including industrial arts, video technology, earth science and driver's education. Later he lived in Fort Myers, FL, and then Cayuga Lake in Union Springs. He loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He killed a black bear in 1962 in the Adirondacks. He always said Gull Lake was his favorite place. He was predeceased by his parents, two sisters, Kathryn Smith and Margaret Gates, and two brothers, John and James. He is survived by his brother, Edmund, of Sherburne; his first wife, Barbara A. Scott and their four children: Stephanie (Gary Craft), Michelle (Neil Treger), Henry (Hanchen), and Scott; three grandchildren, Sarah and Ian Treger, Shiya Ludwig; many nieces, nephews.

Beach, Gloria - Gloria A. Beach, 70, of Sodus died December 20, 2007. Calling hours are today, Dec. 26 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. at Norton Funeral Home, 45 West Main Street, Sodus. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Spring interment will be in Sodus Rural Cemetery. Gloria was predeceased by her husband Robert Beach, daughter Connie, sisters Lena and Wyona, brothers George and Leon. She is survived by her daughter, Donna (John) MacDougall; sons, Donald (Cindy) Beach, John (Kim) Beach, Robert (Jackie) Beach, Terry (Jennifer) Beach; 17 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; her siblings Betty (Jug), Hazel, Russ (Carol) and Harold (Evelyn).

Csaszar, Patricia - Patricia A. Csaszar, 69, of Sodus died December 19, 2007. She is survived by her husband, Stephen; five children, Theresa (Michael Doyle), Stephen III (Allie), Rebecca (John Hanagan), Trish, Douglas (Jane); 11 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren; sister Margaret Jackewicz of Hamden, CT. Norsen, Margaret - Margaret L. Norsen, 89, of Phelps, died December 21, 2007. Margaret was born July 29, 1918, in Potter, the daughter of the late James and Ruth Snyder, and had lived in the area all of her life. She worked for many years at the high school cafeteria where all the children fondly knew her as 'Grandma. She loved to take photographs and spend time taking care of her flowers. Margaret will be sadly missed by all of her loving friends and family. Margaret is survived by her children, Gerald (Deloris) Norsen, Gary (Sally) Norsen, Melvin (Margie) and James (Bernice) Norsen; 12 grandchildren; 17 great- grandchildren; and sisters Keitha Christensen, Ethel Russell and Doris Delano. She was predeceased in 1981 by her husband, Jacob. Friends may call from noon to 2 on Thursday, December 27 at the Patrick Funeral Home, 26 W. Lergner, Ruth - Ruth (Watson) Lergner of Williamson died Dec. 21, 2007. She was the daughter of Fred and Nellie (Fisher) Watson of Pultneyville. Larkin, Hazel - Hazel M. Larkin, 92, of Williamson, died Dec. 22, 2007. She is survived by daughters, Peggy (Abe) Nevelizer of Williamson; Alice (Rev. Manley) Johnson of Venice Center; Rev. Lloyd (Marty) Larkin of West Jordan, Utah; grandchildren, Cheryl Nevelizer, Rev. Dale (Cindy) Nevelizer, Rev. Harper, Louise - Mrs. Louise F. Harper, 95, of Clyde, died December 23, 2007. Family and friends are invited to attend her memorial service on Sat., Dec. 29 at 2 p.m. in the Clyde United Methodist Church with the Reverends Barbara DeAngelis and Diana Russell officiating. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery Clyde at the convenience of the family. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Baris Funeral Home of Clyde. She was born August 16, 1912 in the old Myers Hospital in Sodus, daughter of Carlton and Nellie Curtis Fairbanks. She grew up on the family homestead on Tuckahoe Road. Louise graduated in 1930 from Williamson High School. She attended the Rochester Business Institute, and also studied in New Orleans, LA and Memphis, TN. In January of 1936 she married Roscoe Harper, and together they raised their family on the family farm on E. DeZeng Street, Clyde. She was a member of the Clyde United Methodist Church. She sang in the choir, taught Sunday School, and was past president of United Methodist Women, WSCS and the Gleaners Class, and served on many committees. Louise was a 67-year member and past Matron of the Vandenberg chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star, and a member of the Wayne County Past Matrons group. She was a 77-year member of the Clyde Grange and a member of Pomona, State and National Granges. Louise also served as Clyde-Savannah PTA president. Short, Ernest - Ernest Ellis Short, 88, of Newark died December 21, 2007 at his home. He was born May 2, 1919 in Lyons, the son of the late Seneca and Mabel Rowe Short. He was a 1938 graduate of Newark High School, and 1942 Cornell University grad. He earned a Bachelor's degree in Agriculture. He served in the Army from 1942-1945. The funeral home proudly flies the Army flag in his honor for his service. He owned Short's Farm, where he raised beef cattle and over 1000 chickens in his early years. He is survived by his wife, Betty Jensen Hagen Short; sons Paul (Sharon) Short of FL, Gene (Sam), Robert (Terri) Hagen both of TX, Aaron (Mary Ann) Hagen of Manchester; daughters Sandra (Donald) VanCamp of Newark, Ruth (Charles) Coney of Victor and Sandra Ross of PA; 17 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren; daughter-in-law Betsy Hagen of Rushville; sister-in-law Helen Short of Canandaigua; many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased in 1988 by his first wife, Kathrine Medley Short; son Wayne Hagen and brother Robert Short. Van Boxlaere, Catherine - Catherine Van Boxlaere, 71, of Clifton Springs, died Dec. 19, 2007, at the Geneva Living Center North. She was born May 25, 1936 in Phelps, the daughter of the late Howard and Opal Woodworth Fowler. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Canandaigua. She worked for Barney Salisbury at Sunnyside Farms in Phelps and retired from the Clifton Springs Hospital. She is survived by her husband, Philip Van Boxlaere, of Clifton Springs; son, Robbie Van Boxlaere of Clifton Springs; daughter, Louise Van Boxlaere of Phelps; sisters, Elsie Van Camp, Florence Wilson, Mary Fowler and Ruth Mitchell; brothers, Okley, Butch and Charles Fowler; Aunt Lois Allen of Newark; six granddaughters, several nieces and nephews. Rice, Bob - Robert R. Rice, 81, of Newark died December 18, 2007. Wheeler, Steve - Stephen J. Wheeler, 54, East Palmyra-Port Gibson Road, died December 17, 2007, as a result of a snowmobile accident. He was born February 28, 1953 in Rochester, the son of James and Nancy Steinorth Wheeler. He was a 1971 graduate of R.L. Thomas High School in Webster. For 18 years, Steve worked for the Pike Construction Company of Rochester, where he was a project manager on various job sites. He was a member of the Local 85 Carpenters Union in Rochester. Steve was an avid outdoor sportsman. He loved hunting, fishing, archery, and snowmobiling. For 11 years, he has volunteered at a motorcycle event in Dansville. Geiwitz, Bob - Robert E. Geiwitz, 87, residing at the DeMay Living Center, Newark, died December 14, 2007. He was born July 21, 1920 in Rochester; he graduated from Benjamin Franklin High School in 1939 and attended R.I.T. On August 21, 1943 he married Edna B. Schoth at St. Luke's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Rochester. He was a member of Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church in Webster. He was employed by Gleason Gear Works for 20 years and Xerox Corp. for 25 years, retiring February 16, 1985. He was a World War II Navy veteran, serving from 1944 to 1946. He was a member of Valley-Simes Lodge F&AM #109, American Society of Mechanical Engineers and the Rochester Engineering Society. Short, Geraldine - Geraldine F. Short, 91, of Palmyra and Ogdensburg, , died December 13, 2007 at the Wayne County Nursing Home, Lyons. Geraldine was born in Ogdensburg on February 1, 1916, a daughter of the late Henry G. and Olla Nevin Spooner. She attended Ogdensburg schools and married Robert J. Short of Waddington on September 1, 1942. She was a homemaker until the death of Mr. Short in 1966. She later worked as an attendant at the St. Lawrence State Psychiatric Hospital until her retirement in 1978. She was a lifelong member of the St. Mary's Cathedral Parish until she moved to Palmyra in 2000 to be with her daughter and family. She is survived by her daughter Holly (David) Jankowski of Palmyra; grandsons Michael Jankowski of Macedon and Mark (Deirdre) Jankowski of Clifton Springs, four great-grandchildren; one sister, Shirley E. Smith of Ogdensburg; one sister-in-law Betty Spooner of Ogdensburg; nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her husband, Robert Short, brother Claude (Jack) Spooner of Ogdensburg, and an adopted sister Gladys Rathburn. Baier, Mary - Mary K. Baier, 85, of Newark, died on December 6, 2007, at her home. Mary was born August 27, 1922, in Manchester, to Anthony and Catherine Chunko Klym. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, friend, and homemaker. She loved classical music and sang for many years in the St. Michael Church Choir and the Canaltown Chorale. She is remembered by many for her volunteer service in the Twigs of the Newark Wayne Hospital. She was predeceased by her brother, John Klym, and her sister, Ann Klym Boerjan. She is survived by her husband, Richard J. Baier; her sons, Tristan (Deborah) of Newark and Erik (Agnes) of Vermont; seven grandchildren and a great-grandson. Goetzman, Bob - Robert F. Goetzman, 85, a resident of the Wayne County Nursing Home, died December, 9, 2007. Bob was born July 30, 1922 in the Town of Arcadia, son to Martin F. and Emma Goetzman. He was a farmer throughout his life. Bob is survived by his daughter, Debra Ann Goetzman of Newark; grandson Christopher, nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased April 3, 2007 by his wife Betty, and in 2003 by son Mark Robert. Mesley, Doris - Doris Pruner Johnson Mesley, 97, of Clearwater, Florida, died Friday, December 7, 2007. Doris was born November 10, 1910 in Lyons. She retired from Garlock in Palmyra, and was a member of the First Lutheran Church of Lyons. Surviving are her son Merle Johnson of Lyons; grandchildren, Linda (Dennis) Paliotti of FL, Julie (Ben) Pitta of FL, James Johnson of Shortsville, Jill Johnson of Lyons, Jennifer (Robbie) Tyler of Lyons; granddaughter-in-law, Kathy Johnson of Clyde; 10 great-grandchildren; and great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her husbands, Morgan Johnson, and Burt Mesley; son, Earl Johnson, grandson, Robert Johnson, and brothers, William, Vern, Charles, Wiley, and Earl Pruner. Ropher, Codia - Codia (Parmer) Ropher, 72, of Sodus and Geneva, died December 6, 2007. She was born May 15, 1935, in Alabama, to Will Parmer and Pauline Boggan Parmer. She was predeceased by her parents, four brothers and one sister. Surviving are her daughter, son and daughter-in-law; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; her sister and brother-in-law; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends, as well as her church family at Geneva and Newark Jehovah's Witnesses. Boyd, Ralph - Ralph Nelson Boyd, 72, of Newark died unexpectedly on December 8, 2007 at his home. He was born July 5, 1935 in Lynside, West Virginia, son of the late Dexter and Mary Kanode Boyd. Renzi, Patricia Ann- Patricia Ann (Wilson) Renzi, 65, of Wilson St., Newark, died Friday, December 7, 2007, at Newark-Wayne Community Hospital. Mrs. Renzi was born on October 16, 1942 in Norwalk, Ohio, the daughter of Carl and Elizabeth Earley Wilson. Patricia retired from Sarah Coventry as vice president of personnel. Cill, Vincent - Vincent 'Vinnie' A. Cill, 83, of Newark, died Dec. 6, 2007. Vinnie was born March 18, 1924, in Newark, son of Albert and Pauline Morgan Cill. He retired in 1988 from Newark Development Center. He served in the Army and was a life member of August Mauer American Legion Post, and a life member of the Newark Elks Club. Cook, Edward - Edward A. Cook, 64, of Phelps, died Dec. 6, 2007 at Rochester General Hospital. He was born Aug. 13, 1943, the son of the late Stanleigh and Adelaide Benson Cook. He was a member of the United Church of Phelps. He was a School Psychologist for Wayne-Finger Lakes BOCES in Rushville. He enjoyed playing the guitar, reading, watching football and also enjoyed writing and was in the process of writing an autobiography. He is survived by his wife, Vicci Cook, of Newark; daughter, Danielle V. Cook; and son, Dylan E. Cook of Phelps; sisters, Mary Ann (Robert) Marshall of Austin, Texas, and Margaret Cook of Newark; brothers, Gary (Kathy) Cook of Palmyra, James Cook of Clifton Springs, John 'Jack' (Mariam) Cook of South Carolina, David (Carolyn) Cook of North Tonawanda, Burr (Vivian) Cook of Syracuse; nieces and nephews and their families. Schuyler, Raymond - Raymond H. Schuyler, 86, of Sodus Point, died December 6, 2007. Ray was a World War II Navy veteran, and also served for over 20 years in the Coast Guard Auxiliary at the Coast Guard Station Sodus Point. Ray was predeceased by his wife, Pauline, daughter Gloria VerHeecke, and siblings Howard, Isabelle, Eleanor and Betty. He is survived by daughter Alice (Alvin) LaRock; grandchildren Kathy Cole, Sharon VerHeecke, Lorraine Beam, Raymond (Tracy Knauss) LaRock, Paula (Mark) Jones, Kenneth (Michelle Weed) LaRock, Samantha (Tom) Jackson; 21 great grandchildren; and one sister, Betty Jean Andrews of California. Calling hours will be Sunday, December 9, from 1-4 p.m. at the Norton Funeral Home, 45 West Main Street in Sodus. Funeral service will be held at the conclusion of visitation. Schram, Marilyn - Marilyn H. Schram, 75, of Lyons, died December 5, 2007 at the Clifton Springs Hospital. Marilyn was born February 16, 1932 in Lyons, a daughter to William J. and Mary Ann Schleede Herbst. She retired from the Lyons School District, for which she was a bus driver for 18 years. She was a 4H leader, and she loved to sew, crochet, embroider, read, and enjoyed her flower gardens. She was predeceased by her parents, and an infant brother, John. She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Bernard; children, Lucie (Ron) LaFleur, Chris (Ed) Gansz, Bernardine Thorn, Jeffery (Patricia) Schram, and Eric (Darlene) Schram; eight grandchildren and three great-grandsons; a brother, William (Dorothy) Herbst; nieces, nephews and cousins; and many close friends. Stoddard, Lee - Lee H. Stoddard, 95, long-time Newark resident and retired accountant, died December 1, 2007 at St. Mary's Hospital in Minnesota. Mr. Stoddard was born November 14, 1912 in Newark, New York. He graduated from Newark High School in 1930 and attended Hobart College & RIT. On May 2, 1942 he married Rachel E. Reeves in Newark and after 65 years of marriage, she died in Minnesota on August 11, 2007. He worked for a public accounting firm in Rochester, before returning to Newark, where he continued to work as an accountant for local firms. He retired in 1977 as Assistant Treasurer of Sarah Coventry, Inc. He volunteered for various organizations and served on the Board and as Treasurer of the Community Center, the Newark Public Library and the Newark Country Club. He was a member of the Park Presbyterian Church and a life member of the Newark Elks Club. Lee and Rachel moved to Rochester, Minnesota in 1996. Survivors include his daughter, Susan Lee Stoddard Ph.D. (Stephen Carmichael Ph.D.) of Rochester, MN. He was preceded in death by his wife and one brother. Manning, Craig - Craig Manning, 84, of Lyons, residing at Wayne County Nursing Home, died December 2, 2007. Craig was born September 26, 1923 in Scotland, a son to Craig and Margaret Finlayson Manning. He was a veteran in the Army during World War II and retired from the New York Telephone office in Newark. Surviving are his wife, Leona; two sons, Robert (Patricia) Manning, of Lyons and John (Anna Felfoldi) Manning, of Auburn; five grandchildren; three great- grandchildren; and niece, Fiona Reynolds, of Arizona. He was predeceased by his parents, and a sister, Margo Reynolds. Dombeck, Dennis - Dennis Dombek, 55, of Newark, died suddenly on December 1, 2007 at his home. Dennis was born November 16, 1952 in Buffalo, son of the late Frank and Dolores Jajkowski Dombek. He was a handyman, able to repair and build most anything. A member of the Finger Lakes Street Machines, he enjoyed all makes and models of muscle cars. Dennis had worked for Mobil Chemical in Macedon for 10 years. She was the daughter of Professor George I. Dale and Alvena Hartung. She was a 1940 graduate of Cornell University, where she met her husband John Cooney Hemingway (1914-1988). Seymoure, Howard - Howard A. Seymoure, 82, of Wolcott died December 2, 2007. He was born April 10, 1925 in Edwards, to George and Bessie Goodie Seymoure. Howard was a World War II Army veteran, having served with the 288th Engineer Combat Battalion. He had worked for many years in the Wolcott area as a automotive mechanic, and was a member of the Wolcott Fire Department. Howard is survived by his wife Doris; children Barbara Roeschlaub, Thomas (Deb Baker) Seymoure, Karen (Bill) Henner; grandchildren Gary and James Roeschlaub, Sabrina Seymoure, Shelli and Janelle Henner; five great grandchildren. Varalli, Aggie - Agnes 'Aggie' Varalli, 89, of Lyons, died November 30, 2007, at the Wayne County Nursing Home. Aggie was born Feb. 26, 1918 in Seneca Castle, the daughter of Frank and Theresa Vitaro Santelli. Aggie retired from Santelli Lumber and had worked for the Clyde-Lyons Shopping Guide. She also helped out in Santelli's True Value hardware store. She was a member of St. Michaels Church. Agnes and her late husband had resided at the Wayne County Nursing Home. She was predeceased by her husband, Angelo in November 2005; sister, Mary Marro; and brother, Anthony Santelli. Bowen, Robert - Robert F. Bowen of Phelps, died Nov. 23, 2007, while at a medical center in Tucson, Arizona. Robert was born Nov. 5, 1934. He was a navy veteran who lived in California most of his life. Brother Bob made many visits to his hometown to visit family and close friends; most of his visits were made at Sauerkraut Festival time. As a member of the Phelps American Legion, Bob started the Cowboy Hat Ceremony in the 1980s, where he would bring or send home a cowboy hat to be given away to a selected member of the American Legion, making him the cowboy of that year, something Bob wanted to be remembered for. He is survived by his two sisters, Rosalie Mattoon, of Stanley, and Sean Jannae Bowen, of Phelps; his two sons, Robert, of California and Larry, of Tennessee; his daughter, Roxanne (Jeff) Clausen, of California; grandchildren; nieces, nephews and cousins. He will be cremated and buried at sea.

Mrs. Bremer was born on June 11, 1927 in Shortsville, New York, the daughter of David and Marie Bement Williams.  She was a member of St. Michael’s Church and active with Martha’s Ministry.  For many years, Renee was a caterer with Sarah Coventry and the Wayne County ARC.  She also had been a cook for several priests at St. Michael’s Rectory in Newark. She is survived by her daughter Sharon (David) San Angelo, five sons Robert D. (J. Milliman, Irene - Irene L. Milliman, 100, of Palmyra, died November 27, 2007. Irene was born n March 5, 1907 in Batavia, daughter of James and Mary Morehouse Lester. Irene and Lloyd A. Milliman were married September 8, 1930 in Manchester. She was a former employee of Garlock in Palmyra. Irene was predeceased by her husband Lloyd. She is survived by her daughter Nancy (Thomas) Lenahan of Clifton Park; son Robert (Cecilia) Milliman of Cape Coral, Florida; brothers Walter (Carol ) Lester of Palmyra and James Lester of Canandaigua and several grandchildren. Marsteiner, Cliff - Clifford E. Marsteiner, 88, a resident of the Wayne County Nursing Home, died November 27, 2007 with his family by his bedside. Cliff was born in Lyons, on July 11, 1919, a son to Grover and Mary Ann Stevens Marsteiner. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army during WWII, and retired from Fold-Pak in Newark after 30 plus years of employment. Following retirement he was the care taker for the Elmwood Cemetery in Lyons. Cliff is survived by his wife Karlyne; daughter Pat (Dick) Lewis of Lyons; son, Ken (Pam) Marsteiner of Lyons; grandchildren, Kim (Mike) Lada of Canandaigua, Chad Lewis of Newark, and Jolene Lewis of Canandaigua, 5 great-grandchildren; 3 sisters, Ellen DeMeyer, Mary Ann (Eddie) Feiock and Betty (Duane) Dennis all of Newark; several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his parents, and two brothers, Charles and Irving Marsteiner. Scott, Marvin - Marvin E. Scott, of Walworth, died November 27, 2007. Marvin was a WWII Veteran and a retiree of Xerox Corporation who enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening and had a true love for the outdoors. He is predeceased by his parents, Earl and Pearl and brothers, Leonard and Harold. He is survived by his wife, Jean and their children - Kathy (Robert) Mogray, Kimberley Scott and Douglas (Tina) Scott; two grandchildren, Michael Mogray and Benjamin Scott; and his beloved puppy Gracie. Stubenrod, Frederick - Frederick W. Stubenrod, 90, of Marion, died November 26, 2007. He was a WWII Navy veteran and Korean Conflict veteran, and a longtime member of the Genesee Yacht Club. He was predeceased by his wife, Jeannette. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Frederick J. and Hope Lauryne; daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Robert Olyslager; five grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; sister, June (Robert) Boland and brother, Wayne (Pat) Wilson; many nieces, nephews and dear friends. Reddout, Mike - Michael Thomas Reddout, 51, died November 21, 2007 at the Life Care Center in Winter Haven, Florida after a long and courageous battle with brain cancer. Michael was born March 17, 1956 in Bath, to Franklin and Nancy (Koby) Reddout. He was a graduate of Newark Senior High School in Newark, and worked for the Newark Developmental Center as a mental health aide. In 1992, he moved to Florida. Michael was predeceased by his paternal grandparents, Morris and Henrietta Reddout, and his maternal grandparents, Timothy and Dorothea Koby, all of Naples, NY. He is survived by his parents; his brother, Jeffrey (wife, Brenda) of Winter Haven, FL; sister, Susan Matlock (husband John) of Clermont, FL; two nieces, Jordan and Paige Reddout; his uncle, Morris Reddout (wife Ann); aunts, Martha Reddout and Sally Carney (husband Bob); and cousins. Michael was a gentle soul who touched many lives. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. His family is appreciative of the kindness shown to Mike during his long illness. A memorial service will be held December 22, at 10:30 a.m. at Hope Presbyterian Church in Winter Haven, Florida. Garner, Ray - Raymond J. Garner, 80, of Lyons and Rose, died Nov. 26, 2007, at home surrounded by his loving family. Born April 13, 1927 in Short Track, NY, Ray was a life-long, well-known farmer. Ray had worked at Garlock in Palmyra for 43 years, retiring in 1993. Ray is survived by daughters Marilyn Garner of Clyde, Marjorie (Charles) DeTaeye III of Newark; sons Leslie (Judith) Garner of Lyons, George Garner of Clyde, David (Cindy) Garner of Farmington, Thomas (Holli) Garner of Belmont, NC; 17 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; brother George Red Garner of Gastonia, NC; sisters Katherine (Ronald) Roloson of Seneca Falls and Evelyn Buss of Cohocton; sister-in-law Patricia Kirkpatrick of Middleport; extended family - The Cartwrights from Nunda, and many cherished friends in the farming community of eastern Wayne County. Ray was predeceased by his wife, Doris J. Garner, and by his parents, James and Marjorie Elliott Garner. Teetor, Viola - Viola Mae (Leenhouts) Teetor, 87, of Canandaigua and Palmyra, died November 23, 2007, following a battle with pancreatic cancer. Viola was born December 8, 1919 in Williamson, daughter of Peter and Catherine Leenhouts. She had worked for FF Thompson Hospital in the Housekeeping Dept. during the 1970's. Upon retirement, she and her husband Kelsey lived in Clearwater, FL and Wilmington, NC for over 20 years, and then they moved in 2000 to the Canandaigua area. She was predeceased by her daughter Pamela Bavis. She is survived by her husband of 71 years, Kelsey E. Teetor; daughter Rebecca (Larry) Gamba, son Richard (Joy) Teeter, son Larry (Janet) Teeter, son-in-law Eugene Bavis; 10 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. VanHoute, Vinny - Lavinus 'Vinny' VanHoute, 74, of Clifton Springs, died November 21, 2007. Vinny was born October 29, 1933 in Sodus. He worked for 35 years for Clifton Springs Hospital Engineering Department. Vinny was an avid bowler. John was a first-time owner of a Harley Davidson Road King. He was preceded in death in 1991 by his brother, George 'Buggy' Young. Meneely, Bob - Robert W. Meneely, 79, of Sodus died October 25, 2007. Bob is survived by his wife Donna (Vieweg) Meneely; son David (Karen) Meneely; daughter Katherine (John) Graf; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; sister-in-law Eleanor Vieweg. He was a graduate of Christian Brothers Academy, Russell Sage College and Albany State University. Mr. Meneely was a respected educator and later school board member for the Sodus Central School District. He had taught Social Studies at Sodus beginning with the 1955-56 school year. A service celebrating his life will be held Saturday, Dec. 1 at 1:30 p.m. at the Sodus United Third Methodist Church. Inurnment will be in Sodus Rural Cemetery. Burial will be in Lyons Rural Cemetery. Frances was born December 19, 1906 in the Town of Galen, daughter of Edward and Mary Sontheim Stauch. She was a graduate of Lyons High School and St. Mary's School of Nursing. She was a surgical nurse for 30 years at the former Barber Hospital, and she worked for Dr. Myron Carmer. She was a member of St. Michaels Church in Lyons. She is survived by several cousins and her caregivers, Edna and Max Sontheim of Lyons. She was predeceased by her parents and her brother, Max.

Galusha, Louise - Louise M. Galusha, 87, of Newark died November 19, 2007 at the Wayne County Nursing Home. Family and friends may call Friday (Nov. 23) from 4 to 7 at the Norman L. O'Donnell, Whitey - Ron G. 'Whitey' O'Donnell, 69, of Clyde died November 20, 2007 at the V.A. Hospital n Syracuse after a courageous battle with cancer. Ron was born in Lyons, September 10, 1938 son of the late Glenn & Nina Cushman O'Donnell. He was a lifelong resident of Clyde and attended Clyde schools. He served in the Army in the early 60's. He worked at Sylvania until they closed and then at Parker Hannifin in Lyons. A Service will be held November 28, at 2 p.m. at Pusateri Funeral Home, 68 Sodus St., Clyde with Rev. Dana Rattray. He attended schools in Marion and Palmyra. Jeff was a motorcycle rider and Miami Dolphins fan. He enjoyed flashy cars and clothes and spending time with friends. VanSickle, Bill - William H. VanSickle 87, of Phelps, died November 18, 2007, at the Clifton Springs Hospital. Bill was born December 27, 1919 in Geneva, a son to Curtis and Clara Shipman VanSickle. He was a farmer raising Black Angus cattle, loved playing piano for Grange functions and church groups, was a local historian and antiques collector. Bill is survived by his siblings, Emma Dullen of Syracuse, Ruth Carlson, Roy VanSickle and Howard VanSickle, all of Stanley; nieces, nephews and cousins; and special friend Roy Taylor. Bill was predeceased in 1965 by his brother, Carl VanSickle. Nelson, Wilma - Wilma R. Nelson, 90, of Sodus Point, died October 31, 2007. She was born Feb. 14, 1917. 'Willie' was a 1939 graduate of Park Avenue Hospital and Training School for Nurses in Rochester. Much of her R.N. career was as an AT&T industrial nurse in New York City, until she retired in 1983 and moved to Sodus Point, NY. She was a member of the Sodus Point United Methodist Church and volunteered at Myers Community Hospital. She was predeceased by her husband Gilbert Nelson; brother Victor Stevens; and sister Ruth Johnston. She is survived by her daughter Micheline Walker of Winder, GA; step-daughter Sue Pester; grandson Andrew Walker of Winder, GA; granddaughter Tammie (Darin) Presley of Havelock, NC; five great-grandchildren; sisters, Glenna Stoner of Oviedo, FL, Vernadine Gersey of Webster; nephews, nieces, cousins and friends. Visitation will be November 16, 5:30 to 7:30, at the Norton Funeral Home, 45 W. Main St., Sodus. Interment will be on November 17, at White Haven Memorial Park, Pittsford. Harris, Richard - Richard M. Harris, 82, of Sodus Point died November 12, 2007. Richard was a 30-year employee of the Gannett Newspapers, having worked as a pressman. Following retirement, he brokered yacht sales for Flaherty Yachts in Sodus Point. He is survived by daughter Nanci Harris of Florida; son Richard Harris of Florida; grandchildren Beth (John) King, James (Melinda) Harris, Lori (Shawn) Tillotson; great-grandchildren Kailey & Tyler King; brother Donald Harris; and other family members and friends. He was predeceased by his wife, Mary Harris. A service celebrating his life will be held at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, November 17, at Norton Funeral Home, 45 West Main Street, in Sodus. His family has requested that in lieu of flowers, contributions be directed to Sodus Point Fire Department, or to the Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, 1275 York Avenue, New York, NY 10065.

Cunningham, David - David H. Cunningham, 66, of Kelsey Rd., Clyde, died November 9, 2007. David was born in Macedon on August 29, 1941, a son to Homer and Catherine Schmitt Cunningham. He was a U.S. Navy veteran, serving from 1960-1966. David was employed by Garlock in Palmyra, and retired from Parker-Hannifin in Clyde. He was predeceased by his parents. He is survived by his brothers and sisters, Jeri (Fred) Goulden, Jack (Nancy) Cunningham, Judy (Don) Tweed, Linda Kennedy, Homer (Sherry) Cunningham, and April (Gordon) Smith, several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 14 at 2 p.m. at the Farnsworth-Keysor Funeral Home, 5025 Main St. in North Rose. Contributions may be made to the Wayne County Humane Society.

Stephany, Joe - Joseph Stephany, 71, of Newark, died November 11, 2007 at the Newark-Wayne Community Hospital. Calling hours are tomorrow, Nov. 14, from 1 to 2 p.m. at the Norman L. Waterman Funeral Home, Inc., 124 W. Miller St., Newark. A service will follow at 2 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be in East Newark Cemetery. Joe was born July 27, 1936 in Rochester, son of the late Joseph and Margaret Popwych Stephany. Joe lived at the 507 Church Street house before moving to 101 Cobblestone Terrance. He is remembered by friends and staff at the Finger Lakes DDSO.

Dapolito, 'Gina' - Eugenia 'Gina' M. Dapolito, 71, of Clyde died November 7, 2007 in Morano, Italy, while visiting her sister. Eugenia was born March 4, 1936 in Galatro, Reggio Calabria, Italy, the daughter of Luigi and Emacolata LaManna Alvaro. She and her husband owned and operated Dapolito's Florist and Greenhouses for over 25 years in Clyde. She owned and operated Mary's Fashion Shop and the Men's Shop in Clyde. After semi-retirement, she worked at J.L. Hammet's in Lyons, DeVries Gardens in Newark, and Dapolito's Fruit Stand in Clyde. Gina enjoyed flowering and gardening, but above all the most important thing to her was the time she spent helping to raise her grandchildren. Surviving are her husband, George M. Dapolito of Clyde; two daughters, Mrs. Gina (Gil) DeSpain of Baldwinsville, and Mrs. Julie (Ted) Terrell of Fairport; grandchildren, Kristopher & Darcey DeSpain and Matthew Terrell; her brother, Fortunato (Carol) Alvaro of Canandaigua; her sisters Carmelina Alvaro DeCicco of Marano di Napoli, Italy; Stella (Gary) Cowles of Royal Palm Beach, FL; her aunt Stella Santelli of Tarpon Springs, FL; nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her mother, Emacolata LaManna Alvaro, her father Luigi Alvaro, her sister Antonetta Alvaro Merlino. Mass of Christian Burial is set for Tuesday, November 13 at 10 a.m. in St. John the Evangelist R.C. Church, with the Rev. Joseph Marcoux officiating. Entombment will follow in the Garden Crypts of St. John's Cemetery in Clyde. Memorial contributions welcomed at St. John's Church Renovation Fund, 114 Sodus Street, Clyde 14433; or to Clyde Volunteer Ambulance Corps, P.O. Box 145, Clyde 14433 would be appreciated.

Lucieer, Mae - Mae Lucieer, 74, of Sodus, passed away on November 9, 2007 at the Blossom View Nursing Home after a courageous battle with cancer.  A graveside service will be held at the Huron Evergreen Cemetery on Tuesday, November 13, at 2 p.m.. Mae is predeceased by her husband Floyd, son Barry and her parents Eva and Ben Laird. She is survived by her sons: Terry (Bonnie), Linwood and Dennis (Sheila); daughters: June DuBois, Mae Banke and Mary Ann Novosel (Mark); grandchildren: Amy, Todd, Matt, Nicole (Srujan), Tammy (Jeff), Jeff, Keith, Jordan, Brad, Jason, Renee Marie and Jared (Koreen); great-grandchildren: Alexa, Mariah, Hannah and Benjamin; sisters: Edith Sivalia and Edna Featherly (Phil) and many nieces and nephew. Larson, Madeline - Madeline Larson, 92, of Geneva, formerly of Newark, died Thursday, November 8, 2007, at the Huntington Living Center in Waterloo. Mrs. Larson was born on February 15, 1915 in Clyde, the daughter of Joseph and Nettie Signorfi Forjone. With her late husband Kenneth, she owned and operated the Western Auto store in Clyde for many years. Before her marriage to Ken, she was a secretary for the C. H. Stuart Company. Madeline was a communicant of St. Michael’s Church, Newark. She had been a member of the Newark Country Club and a past president of the Newark Garden Club. Friends may call on Friday, Nov. 16, from 6-8 p.m. at the Paul L. Murphy & Sons Funeral Home, 127 East Miller Street, Newark. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Father Mark Brewer at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 17, at St. Michael’s Church, 325 South Main Street, Newark. Burial will be in Newark Cemetery.
