Thanks! to those who, again, volunteered to man the Marion Museum on Festival Day. It was much appreciated. Thanks go to Joe Bovet, Linda Roeland, Zoe and Doc Bovet and Jean Fitsgerald.

And all of us were happy to see Hazel McMullin walking around the festival doings - and that she was able to get her "waffles."

Winners at the quilt and craft show were Quilts - First pize went to Judy Herrick and Second and Third to Darlene Jones. Crafts First Prize to Judy Herrick and Second and Third to Mary VanDerMeere.

"An almond is not a nut --- it is a fruit."

Wayne Rochow is recuperating from cataract surgery.

Special music at the Second Reformed Church on August 24, was a lovely solo provided by Sherry Reiss with Melissa Van Hall signing.

AUGUST 29, 1957 - Miss Pauline Governor, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Governor and a 4-H Club member, will represent Wayne County Apple Growers Association at the New York State Fair. She won the Wayne County apple pie baking contest, and was one of four winners in the district contest.

Albert and Nancy Nevelizer entertained his sister, John and Bertha Ross of Myrtle Beach on Thursday, August 21.

Those at the United Church will be joining their friends at the First Reformed Church on August 31 for the morning worship service. Worship service is 9:30.

To parents whose children are going off to college: "It's empty room, empty heart, but a full refrigerator and a phone that rings less often, but when it does, it's always for you!" (Susan Stamberg NPR).

Two new large print hymnals were dedicated at the United Church on August 24, purchased by the memorial committee from the Margaret Lasher Memorial Fund.

Congratulations! to Lloyd and Arline Van Haneghem who celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary.

Bruce and Ethel Stone entertained her sister, Bertha and John Ross of Myrtle Beach, during the week of August 17. The family celebrated with the Ross's at a picnic for their 35th Wedding Anniversary at Jim Esther Deys on Sunday. Present were Albert and Nan Nevlizer, Jesse and Gloria Nevelezer, Bruce and Ethel Stone, George and Ruth Cook, Joe and Dorene and Nathan D'Eufemia, Larry, Lorie and Jennifer Abbot, Luanne Nevelezer, Jim Wilcox, and Cari Minniman, Nancy and Andrea LaJoie, and Christopher, Sheryl, and Sarah Deys.

Paul Buyck, Williamson Rd., Marion, says he has an unexplained "crop circle" in his field of oats.
