 Woman honored as VA volunteer Fifty years ago, Madeline Nebe began volunteering. Currently a resident at the Blossom View Nursing Home in Sodus, she joined the American Legion Auxiliary and started helping at the Bath VA Medical Center after her husband, Harry, returned home from serving in the Navy during World War II.
Madeline, 88, says she will continue to volunteer for the VA by designing greeting cards for veterans who have no close family members. She is also an active participant in numerous activities at Blossom View Nursing Home. Congratulations, Madeline! Copyright

was a labor of love that lasted a lifetime; and recently,
Madeline was one of more than 100 volunteers who were honored for
their work at the VA Center. Madeline also received a special
award for volunteering for 50 years.
