Christine Mizro The Newark School District is comprised of five schools. Elementary students in kindergarten to grade two attend either Perkins School on W. Maple Ave. or Lincoln School, located on N. Main St. (Route 88).  Principal for Perkins school is Sue Achille, and Cindy Russell is principal at Lincoln..

Grades 3-5 attend the Norman R. Kelley School. The principal is Christine Mizro (pictured). Grades 6-8 attend the Newark Middle School.  The Newark High School has Grades 9-12. Principal is Kevin Whitaker. His assistant principal is Greg Herbst.
studentThe District has an active PTA organization and many volunteers.   The Volunteer Coordinator/Adult Education Coordinator is Dawn Strait.

Interim Superintendent of Schools is Henry Hann. The District offices are located on the fourth floor of the Municipal Building at 100 E. Miller St. Hann is also Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum and Instruction, Greg Kern  is Assistant Superintendent of Business and Yvonne Saner is Director of Pupil Services. You may phone the District Office at (315) 332-3200, or fax to (315) 332-3517. The District publishes a newsletter - The Newark News - to keep residents informed of activities, budgets, propositions, meetings, etc. Many school concerts and athletic events are broadcast locally on FLTV Channels 12 and 6, public access cable television programming.

The Board of Education members are President Roberta Colacino,  Teresa Hurley, Nick Santino, Joanne Mincemoyer, Susie Earl, and Thomas Ledbetter.

Board of Education Meetings are Wednesdays at 7:00 p.m.

Alternatives to the public school system include St. Michael's School on South Main St., and the East Palmyra Christian School.
