Early Worship Service is 8 a.m. in the chapel, on the main floor.
Sunday-School Classes meet at 9 a.m. each Sunday from early in September through the following June. We offer classes for adults and youth of all ages.
Traditional Worship Service is 10 a.m. in the sanctuary.
A video of this service is available during the week.The Adult Chancel Choir enhances our worship from September through June. On occasion, the Hand-Bell Choir participates, guest performers may be invited for special music, or Youth Choir may perform.
Coffee Hour Fellowship: at the conclusion of the 10 a.m. service all are encouraged to gather in the dining room for a social time. An elevator is available for those unable to navigate the stairs.

Witness to our faith in Christ and to provide vision, leadership, service and resources that will facilitate fulfilling The Great Commission (Matthew 28:19,20).
We, the people of First United Methodist Church, Newark, NY, will use our spiritual and financial gifts for the benefit of all God's ministries. We will do this work ever mindful of our personal commitments to glorify God.
HOLY COMMUNION is served during each worship service on the first Sunday of every month, as well as on special worship occasions when announced.
BAPTISMS are normally scheduled during our Sunday worship services at 10:00 AM. Other times may be arranged in consultation with Pastor Smith.

Prayer at the Altar: during scheduled worship services
Upper Prayer Center: sends us requests for prayer each week from around the country.
Youth Group meets every 2nd and 4th Sunday evening at 6:30 p.m., at the church, and includes 6th-12th grade youth.
Extreme Teens (ET) Bible Discovery: meets every 1st and 3rd Sunday evening at 6:30 p.m., at the church, and includes 6th-12th grade youth.
Youth Worship Team: meets as scheduled by Rev. Dan Mann.
Kids in Christ (KIC) Praise Time: for those attending Kid's Church, during the 10 a.m. service, for preK-6th grade.
Kids in Christ (KIC) Saturday Fun: at time for children and their parents to participate in ministry together.
Faith Builders: for stay-home moms and their children (ages 5-12) to study God's word in fun and creative ways. Group meets on Fridays at 11:30 a.m. - 1:00 p.m., at the church.
Family Outings or Group Excursions: are scheduled when possible.

Concerts in Central Park
Caring and Sharing Group meets Thursday morning at 10 a.m. in the lounge. This group is for retired women who gather to discuss a specific Bible-related topic and have a time of prayer. Contact Mary Fay Gowdy, 331.3140.
Women's Spiritual Growth Group meets each Tuesday at 9:00 a.m. Contact Lucina Halligan at 331-6106.
Tuesday Night Bible Study meets each Tuesday at 7:00 p.m.
Confirmation and Church Membership Classes are held as needed. Pastor Smith will schedule and lead these classes.
United Methodist Women (UMW): meet on the third Tuesday of each month at 7:30 p.m. Contact Eloise Miller, 331-6738.
The UMW includes two smaller groups, which meet monthly from September through June in members' homes:
