Wolcott, NY Hometown Page

Welcome to Wolcott

The Town of Wolcott is located in the far northeast corner of Wayne County. The Town borders Lake Ontario and is part of your scenic journey as you travel New York State's Seaway Trail.

The Town has two villages: Wolcott and Red Creek. According to the U.S. 1990 census, the town's population totaled 4,283 (1,544 of which wolcott photo#1lived in the Village of Wolcott, and 566 in Red Creek). In 2001, the average home sale price was just over $50,000.

Recreation and culture: Wolcott is home to the Port Bay Golf Club, the Seaway Studios Fine Arts & Crafts Gallery, and Wolcott Falls Park. Because of it's lakeshore boundary, you'll find many places to camp, fish, and dock or rent a boat. Stay the night at one of the many Bed & Breakfast Inns, or just stop for the day at one of many picnic areas. Marinas and restaurants line the lake coast.

Wolcott photo#2Because of the agricultural nature of this lovely, rural area, major manufacturing employers include Comstock Foods and Fowler Bros. Inc. Fruit farms and orchards dot the countryside.

If you're in the area in July, don't miss the Wolcott Summerfest - music, rides, parades and fireworks.
